DSP

DSP DSP is by its nature a real-time application. Some very focused DSP solutions need only a simple monitor program or executive kernel that cycles through a few tasks, but once there are more than two or three tasks to juggle a real-time operating system is required. 3DSP's RTOS strategy is aimed at enabling customer with best-of-breed real-time solutions in three tiers: "basic", multi-threaded, and POSIX-compatible RTOS's. In the multi-threaded tier, ThreadX from Express Logic is the undisputed industry leader. 3DSP has therefore selected ThreadX as the recommended RTOS for this tier. In a typical complex DSP application, the RTOS has to deal with many interrupts and multi-task between dozens of real-time threads. ThreadX is a robust and proven tool for managing real-time systems on this scale. The 3DSP website is at http://www.3dsp.com.
